Moreish shortbreads made with condensed milk

Servings: 24 Biscuits

Equipment

  • 1 Set measuring cups or other measuring equipment
  • 1 Set of scales
  • 1 Electric mixer or heavy spoon for creaming ingredients
  • 1 or 2 Big plates
  • 1 Roll of baking paper
  • 1 Knife

Ingredients

  • 250 g butter or substitute
  • ¾ cup brown sugar, lightly packed
  • 1 tbsp condensed milk
  • 2 ½ cups plain flour
  • ½ cup self-raising flour
  • ½ tsp  salt

Instructions

  • Set oven to 150 C
  • Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy
  • Add condensed milk, beat well
  • Add sifted dry ingredients, mix well
  • Turn on to lightly floured surface, knead until smooth
  • Divide mixture in half, shape each into a roll, l ½ in. diameter
  • Refrigerate 30 minutes
  • Cut into ½ in slices
  • Put on to lightly greased oven trays or one lined with baking paper
  • Bake until golden brown. Check every 15 minutes,
